Opto22: James Cameron relies on SNAP PAC controller, 7 miles deep

May 2, 2012
When filmmaker and explorer James Cameron made history with his recent solo dive to the bottom of the Mariana Trench, an Opto 22 SNAP PAC S2 controller was with him all the way.

This off-the-shelf PAC controls more than 180 systems on Cameron’s high-tech submersible, the DEEPSEA CHALLENGER. From battery packs to life support, from banks of LEDs to 3D cameras, the PAC monitors, controls, and reports data both to the pilot and to the support ship on the surface.

James Cameron relies on SNAP PACs. Shouldn’t you?
