The E2-MIX20884-D Sixnet EtherTRAK-2 I/O module is for applications that require a high density of mixed I/O types, while firmware for the Sixnet series RTUs has been enhanced.
The I/O module offers dual Ethernet ports that allow it to be used in fault-tolerant ring topologies. It provides up to 20 discrete inputs, including four isolated high-speed counters, and eight discrete outputs, as well as eight 4-20 mA analog inputs and four 0-20 mA, 4-20 mA, 0-5 V outputs. This high-density of mixed I/O allows users to reduce costs versus traditional single-function I/O. The module's four isolated, high-speed counter inputs can be used for metering and flow rate applications such as those in oil and gas and water/wastewater applications. The enhanced RTU firmware features Atomic Configuration Loading, which automates the remote configuration process to help users save time by batch loading hundreds of RTUs; the UDR-A Protocol, an authenticated protocol that helps protect assets by limiting RTU access based on user-specific credentials; a Simple Network Time Protocol (SNTP) Synch Bit that indicates when the SNTP time synchronization is successful; and Datalog Status Bits that indicate when datalog configurations have been loaded to the RTU.
