Up to eight of the company’s ASDA-A2 Series servos can be controlled with the addition of a CANopen network module for accurate pick-and-place applications. The unit can provide 40,000 steps/ms speed and supports up to 32 extension modules or up to 1,024 outputs. Other features include a built-in Ethernet port with EtherNet/IP and Modbus TCP communication and OPC server connectivity, SMTP email server connectivity for alarm notification and an integrated light-webserver and direct database connectivity via an eServer tool when combined with the company’s HMI. It also provides multilayer password protection for enhanced system security. A Micro SD card provides up to 32 GB additional storage. A rackless design allows for quick connection and easy expansion without moving other modules. Programming uses the same ISPsoft software used to program all of the company’s PLCs, allowing for reusable code for scalable machinery systems. ISPsoft is a programming software downloadable off the web. It supports all five IEC 61131-3 languages, has a graphical user interface, supports visualized hardware configuration and has simplified network configuration, built-in data tracing, built-in data logging and motion programming capabilities. It allows for live incremental updates to the PLC code without the need to stop the PLC.
